Starting in Summer 2026, Maman-Loup's offers a unique international residency for artists. Our space is a restored historical bar in the heart of Sturgeon Falls, now converted into a vibrant art hub and cafe. This is an invitation to explore your practice in a supportive community where the spirit of the past inspires the art of the future.
Exhibit your work
At the conclusion of your residency, you will have the opportunity to exhibit your finished work in a dedicated gallery space. This is a chance to share your journey and contributions with the local community and a broader audience.
The exhibition will be a curated event, celebrating your time here and providing a professional platform to showcase your creations.
A Community Rooted in Nature and Culture
Maman-Loup's is nestled in Sturgeon Falls, a vibrant, bilingual town that serves as the gateway to the breathtaking West Nipissing region. Here, the serene landscape of lakes and forests provides endless inspiration, offering a tranquil backdrop to your creative process.
Our community is warm and welcoming, with a deep appreciation for the arts. You'll find yourself immersed in a culture that blends Francophone and Anglophone traditions, creating a unique environment where new ideas and perspectives are celebrated. It's a place where you're not just an artist in residence, but a part of a community that truly values your work.

Residency Fee
The weekly residency fee is $850 CAD. This fee covers all core amenities, allowing you to focus completely on your creative practice. Artist can book up to 4 weeks in a row.

Accommodations
Your residency includes a private, fully-furnished room located upstairs from the exhibit space. The former hotel has been thoughtfully converted into a shared artists' living space, offering both personal comfort and community connection.
Dedicated Studio Space
You will have access to a well-lit, studio located within our art hub/cafe. This space provides a dedicated area for you to bring your artistic vision to life, with 24/7 access to create on your own schedule.

Personal Local Guide
Your personal guide will not only help you navigate the community but also provide a complimentary ride to and from any transportation in North Bay, the nearest airport. They'll also connect you with local artists and resources, ensuring a smooth transition into your new environment.
How to Apply
Timeline
Application Open: November 1, 2025.
Application Deadline: Ongoing.
Notification of Acceptance: Within two weeks after application is received.
Residency Period: Available for any week-long period, up to 4 weeks, as of July 2026.
